I am a reading specialist with Westside Community Schools. I have been working with literacy education for the past twenty years, including time working for Boys Town and Metropolitan Community College. My passions include increasing critical thinking for students and enabling students with special needs to succeed in the classroom. As part of my Teachers for Global Classrooms fellowship, I was traveled to Georgia and worked with students in Batumi at St. Andrews the First Called. Most recently, I was awarded the Nila Banton Smith award from the International Literacy Association for turning theory into practice in my classroom. I currently teach remedial reading and current events and encourage students in their quest for education and love of Doctor Who. I can be contacted at [email protected]
