Resources for Global Education
The place to find everything you never knew you needed to know about global education
(A TGC Capstone Project by Angie Madsen).
How to Use this Guide: An Introduction
This guide is designed to help teachers understand the need for global education and provide practical solutions for making global education part of every classroom. Global education The heart of global education is enabling young people to participate in shaping a better, shared future for the world. Global education emphasizes the unity and interdependence of human society, developing a sense of self and appreciation of cultural diversity, affirmation of social justice and human rights, as well as building peace and actions for a sustainable future in different times and places. Global education promotes positive values and assists students to take responsibility for their actions and to see themselves as global citizens who can contribute to a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. (Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) This guide is designed for all teachers, but specifically those in the Westside Community Schools to find resources and information on global education and how to implement global ideas in any classroom. Below you will find my study resources, resources for other teachers and information about my travels to Georgia through Teachers for Global Classrooms. Use and enjoy!
